In the spotlight: trainee Gisela

Tyro Remotes considers it important that students have the opportunity to gain work experience within the industry in which they follow the training. Each year we have several electronics students doing their internships in the production department. At the end of their internship we always ask them how they experienced it.

Who is Gisela and what is your training?

My training is a level 4 electrical technician and I am doing my study at the ROC, Twente in Almelo. I am 19 years old and technically minded.

Why have you chosen for this course?

I have always been interested in technology. This is the reason why I chose to do my secondary education in a technical field. I must say I really enjoy it.

What have you learned at Tyro Remotes?

I learned a lot of different things. Something that was new to me was soldering with a dryer. A new technique for me, but also fun to do. You can also desolder if it is necessary.

What were your expectations before you came to Tyro Remotes?

My cousin did his internship at Tyro Remotes, and later also as vacation work. He told me about his time here and the pleasure that he had, and that motivated me to try and do my internship at Tyro.

How did you feel about the internship?

It went very well, my supervisor is very satisfied with me and I got good marks for my internship report.

What did you enjoy the most?

There was more than one thing that made it such fun. The tasks assigned to me were generally very satisfying.

Was there anything you did not like doing?

Of course there are also times when things don’t work out, but that is a part of life. Making cable/connector assemblies that are subsequently added to the receivers is not something that I would like to do.

What are your plans for the future?

When I have completed the MBO training I have plans to do a higher professional education.
