Remote control for forestry winches
With a remote control from the new Fornax 2S series, you have a very safe and complete remote control system that has been specially developed for use in all conditions. The Fornax 2S is very suitable for heavy industrial or agricultural applications such as forestry. In the Netherlands, the Fornax remote controls are also widely used in, for example, the industrial cleaning sector. In this new generation, the wishes of our end user have been translated into new features. The transmitter is therefore very ergonomically and intuitively designed, equipped with keypad lighting and handy flashlight.
Safety
It goes without saying that this Fornax has also been subjected to a series of tests which it passed with flying colors. The Fornax 2S guarantees a good, stable and safe connection, even in a forest. This Performance Level C remote control is equipped with safety mosfets, out-of-range protection and a STOP button that guarantees safe use under all conditions. In order to anticipate all situations, the Fornax 2S has a response time of <0.1 seconds.
eSTAB electronic stability protection
We care about your safety – that’s why our systems are optionally equipped with an occupational safety device (eSTAB) – this includes both an emergency stop function and a fully integrated motion sensor on the receiver.
Calibration is child’s play
Calibrating eSTAB takes no more than 3 seconds. Simply make sure your tractor is on a level surface, hold the switch forward for three seconds and you will receive confirmation that calibration is complete.
Good for the environment and your wallet
With RPM Memory, the speed of the tractor can be stored and then immediately increased or reduced when the PULL function is used. This not only makes it much easier for you to work, but also reduces wear on your clutch.
eSTAB
To prevent the tractor from falling over and to ensure optimum safety, eSTAB (Electronic Stability Protection) can be used. This feature is available as an option for all models.
Do not confuse eSTAB with an ordinary tilt sensor, because eSTAB not only protects against tipping of the tractor in both axes, but also against slipping and thus also secures the Z-axis – a first!
Equally unique is that eSTAB is integrated in the receiver and therefore no additional module needs to be installed. The (one-time) calibration of the zero position takes place within a few seconds and ensures unparalleled accuracy.
Fornax 2S, the robust all-rounder
The Fornax 2S remote control is Tyro’s most advanced control system with APEM rocker switches. The Fornax 2S has been developed to offer the user even greater ease of operation. The Fornax 2S Pro is the most advanced version of this. In addition to winching and regulating the speed by means of a throttle adjustment motor, the Fornax 2S can also be used to switch the engine on and off remotely. This remote control is compatible with all versions of electric or electro-hydraulic winches and is also available as a double winch version. The Fornax 2S is also available as a Basic and Delta version with 3 and 4 switches respectively.
The ideal operation under severe conditions
The Fornax radio control systems have a robust, solid housing, which optimally protects the electronics against moisture (IP67), dirt and resin remover. The housing is made of impact-resistant plastic and shock-absorbing TPE rubber and has integrated yellow signal surfaces. The rocker switches are intuitive to operate, making the system easy to use even in adverse weather conditions. Even at dusk, the remote control can be used by the illuminated icons.
Thanks to the use of an interchangeable battery, the Fornax is always ready for use. The handy “battery empty” indicator indicates via an LED signal in good time that the battery is in danger of running low. The transmitter can be used with rechargeable batteries, or with standard batteries. To charge these batteries the Fornax is supplied with a universal charger for 12/24V (vehicle) or 230V (socket).
Complete package
The Fornax 2S wireless control systems are used in combination with the 100% waterproof Scorpius receiver. The Scorpius is also new in our range. This receiver is equipped with the latest radio module which makes it possible to use multiple systems next to each other without interference. The Scorpius is standard equipped with 2.5 metres of cable so that installation will be no problem at all. Of course, this receiver can take a beating and is equipped with a BNC antenna. For optimal comfort of use Tyro Remotes has developed a sturdy waist and chest belt, which is easy to use in combination with the integrated belt clip.
