Efficiency and safety are key words in contemporary forestry. Both are of vital importance and are inseparable from each other or in other words supplementary to each other.
A specialized machine builder for forestry presented us a list of demands for which he could not find any suitable solution. From efficiency point of view, he wanted to run the valve on the Forwarder (for timber extraction) and the winch with a remote control.
At first it seems very simple but in practice, these devices are often used next to each other for uploading and other funtions. Safe remote control for forestry winches
Fornax is a remote control designed especially for winches.
A winch pulls the trees from the forest where the forester at a maximum distance of 150 meters in the forest guides the winch through the forest. With the help of our Fornax remote control he can do this work in a much more safe way by standing away from the winch. In addition to that he can follow the tree trunks on foot and can also maintain control over them. This provides the forester great benefits in comfort and safety.
In such harsh conditions, it happens quiet often that a tractor turns off as the winch gets stuck. With the help of a winch remote control, the user is no longer next to the tractor and therefore, can follow the tree trunks being pulled and loaded. He can foreseen when the winch is about to get stuck and therefore, can immediately stop it. This saves the forester from the situation in which winch would normally be further pulled and would in turn shut down the tractor.
