Great range in harsh winter conditions
On Austrian slopes, the snow is prepared daily with a "Pistenbully '. Some slopes are closed for the skiers due to the dangerous situations that can happen when the ‘Pistenbully’ is at work.
A large LCD screen informs the skiers when the slops are open and closed. Until now, the Bully driver always had to get out in order to set up the LCD screen and hence, to show the 'green' or 'red light' on it.
This was very time taking and therefore, was solved using the wireless technology. The application was quiet simple - just two functions were required - but what made it complicated, were the weather conditions. The functionality was not an issue but during the winter conditions it is definitely something to think about as the snow attenuates the radio signal considerably.
Not only a range of at least 300 meters was required, also the receiver had to be installed outside in the snow in -20 while the transmitter would be used in the cabin at a temperature of +20. This was quite a challenge and demanded a professional high-quality remote control. Tyro’s Aquarius receiver with IP 68 (100% waterproof) with its wide range proved to be a success in managing and solving the whole situation.

Tractor control, an impressive insight!
It is a known fact that Tyro Remotes supplies remote controls for the axle steering of trailers for exceptional transport is a known fact. That these remote controls are often completely customized is no new information either. But remotely controlling a complete tractor was something that was never done before. Thus, a great challenge for Tyro's engineers.
The modules of a standard (software) system were adjusted so that the agricultural vehicle could be managed completely wirelessly.The customer is active in the field of soil borings such as collecting soil quality samples. In this type of work, it is common that people bore into the ground up to 10 meters deep.
Normally, this work is carried out by two people: one operates the drill rig behind the tractor and the other controls the tractor. The solution of Tyro Remotes has made it possible for one person to manage the whole operation as fast as it was managed by two people before!
The following functions are wirelessly operated: The Pyxis / Auriga performs the following functions: lifting on / off, hydraulic pressure on/off, PTO power of hand throttle on/off, Steering left / right (stepless), Switch (power shift gearbox).
