KEMA EMC Certification Tyro Remotes

When you sell electronic equipment, it is very important that your products meet the requirements of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC).

EMC Directive
The EMC Directive requires that electrical products must not emit unwanted electromagnetic pollution (interference) and, because there is a certain amount of electromagnetic pollution in the environment, that products must be immune to a reasonable amount of interference from other devices. The Directive is an important measure to ensure that equipment will continue to function as it was intended and purchasers have a right to expect.

EMC Certified radio remotes from Tyro Remotes
All radio remote controls of Tyro Remotes comply with the EMC Directive. Tyro Remotes uses KEMA and its EMC laboratories to test the products and to determine whether they comply with the EMC Directive. These tests are not mandatory and can also be performed in house, but to be sure that the products meet de EMC requirements, Tyro Remotes preferred to let the testing be performed by a notified body like KEMA.

CE logo and certificate
All Tyro's radio remote controls have the CE logo to prove that they comply with the EMC Directive, which ensures that the products do not cause any interference and are not susceptible to external interference. Additionally the products have an EMC certificate and an accompanying report that proves they meet the requirements.

Enforcement
The EMC Directive is implemented in the UK by the Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2006. It is enforced in the UK by the Trading Standards Service and Ofcom. Penalties from non-compliance generally involves a recall and replacement of the affected product, but can also include three months of imprisonment and a £5000 fine.
