E11 Certification Tyro Remotes

Undisturbed functioning of electronics in vehicles can be literally a matter of life and death. Due to an unacceptably high operational risk in case of use on public roads, it is very important that devices do not interfere with each other and that they also immune to external interference.

Strict Regulations
That’s why the RDW (Centre for Vehicle Technology and Information in the Netherlands) has made the European E11 certificate for radio controls in the automotive industry compulsory in 2002. (source: KEMA)

Since then, the regulations of electrical and electronic components that are used in or on vehicles have been made a lot stricter. EMC inspections for vital car parts (airbags, ABS) are already widely in place within the EU. But other electronic equipment like remote controls, also has to meet the EMC requirements of the Automotive Directive.

Don’t take the risk
If problems occur due to the use of a radio remote control without an E11 certificate - for example: when a child is hit by a vehicle or when a person becomes trapped between the load – your liability insurance will not cover the damage. The owner of the vehicle is always responsible for the vehicle applications he added.

Don’t take the risk, and only use E11 certified radio remote controls when you are planning to use them on public roads. By giving your products the E11 quality label, you can prove that you meet the EMC requirements of the Automotive Directive and that your equipment functions correctly. This way, you are always good insured in case of an accident.

E11 certified remotes
For our customers in the automotive industry (e.g. trailer manufacturers, salvage companies), an E11 certificate for remote controls is absolutely necessary. They cannot afford to have the transmitter or receiver send a heavy transport over a cliff or disrupt other processes, risking all kinds of life-threatening consequences.

With the E11 certificate they can anticipate these risks and prove that their equipment functions correctly. All Tyro’s remote controls have the E11 quality label.
